7 year old boy's Definite Chief Aim

Novak Djokovic is the World No. 1 in Men's Single Tennis now. This Serbian star is generally considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

With his latest Aussie Open title, he has won 11 Grand Slam titles. It has signaled the historic beginning of his drive to equal or surpass Roger Federer (17 titles).

Novak Djokovic has earned over Rs.655 crores just in prize money so far in his career.
VIdeo Footage of a young 7 year old Djokovic, sharing casually about his love of tennis on Serbian TV is really awesome.
The video link is given below

When asked "Is tennis a game or duty for you?" Djokovic answers without any hesitation, "Tennis for me is a duty"
When asked, "What is your goal in tennis?" he answers with such a confidence at the age of 7 "The goal for me is to become number one in Tennis."
His strong focus on his Definite Chief Aim and his commitment to pay the price through lifelong practice have made his dream come true.
All great success stories start from a single thought like that. This success mantra is otherwise termed as the Definite Chief Aim.

POWER MINUTE - 1

A few minutes back, I read an inspiring quote.

" People often make two mistakes in their search of inner peace...
1. Focusing on things they cannot change.
2. Ignoring things they can change."

I thought for a minute, how I wasted my time because of these 2 mistakes.

I wasted several valuable minutes even today wanting to fix those things that can't be fixed.

Because of this first mistake, I also committed the second mistake of ignoring to take action on the things that can be fixed by me.

From this moment I have challenged myself never to waste even a second, worrying about or trying foolishly on the things, which are beyond my control.

I have started focusing my time and energy on the things I can control.

The first one on that list is sharing my experience with all of you.

Life would be so much easier for us, if we just realized ''we cannot fix everything, but we can fix certain things perfectly."

You can simply fix one thing now - share this with your friends

The art of writing one’s own Definite Chief Aim!

The most powerful mantra for phenomenal success is creating one’s own Definite Chief Aim in life.

In my previous post, I wrote about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bold declaration to a journalist that “I’m going to be the number-one box-office star in all of Hollywood” in spite of his pitiable condition on that day.

In this post I have presented the classic success story of Bruce Lee.

A big personal development and philosophy fan, Lee had created his own Definite Chief Aim at the age of 28 in line with his goal of becoming a famous martial artist.
When he wrote his Definite Chief Aim in January of 1969, Bruce Lee was an underemployed television actor.

Since a sacral nerve in his back was damaged, he was confined to bed and unable to practice even his passionate martial arts. Moreover he was in an extreme debt crisis.

He was facing a lot of problems that seemed almost impossible to overcome.

In spite of all such problems he was bold enough to make an outrageous Definite Chief Aim of becoming world famous Oriental Superstar within a year and earning $10,000,000 within 10 years.

Here is the evidence of his inspiring words to himself written in his own handwriting.

‘I, Bruce Lee, will be the first highest paid Oriental superstar in the United States.

In return I will give the most exciting performances and render the best quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting 1970, I will achieve world fame and from then onwards till the end of 1980 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness.’

The first part describes the dream of becoming the highest paid oriental superstar.

The most interesting part of this letter is the second part -- the part that is often omitted. It describes the methods to achieve the dream by paying the right price.

How fascinating that Bruce Lee wrote he would have peace and harmony after he said what he would do to obtain his goal.

This is a masterpiece role model of writing the Definite Chief Aim in life.

Unfortunately, Bruce Lee died four years after writing this letter. But what's amazing is that he met and superseded all the goals in the declaration of his Definite Chief Aim.
He is still regarded as one of the greatest Asian American super stars in the U.S and the world. And his networth exceeded his goal of $10,000,000 as well.
Bruce Lee understood the power of writing one’s own Definite Chief Aim and he wrote it, practiced it and succeeded.
Are you living up to what you're truly capable of?
What is stopping you from living a better life?

If you were to sit down and put pen to paper,
what would your Definite Chief Aim be?

Why can’t you start writing your Definite Chief Aim right now?

Definite Chief Aim - the starting point of phenomenal success!

Creating a Definite Chief Aim for yourself is a way to supercharge yourself to achieve great success which you never dreamt before.

Aligning yourself with a major purpose gives you clarity. It helps you to create a laser-like focus in your endeavors.

The term, Definite Chief Aim

The term, Definite Chief Aim, comes from the success philosophy of Napoleon Hill. We can learn this in detail from his powerful books, The Law of Success (1928) and Think and Grow Rich (1937).

He says strongly held Definite Chief Aim transforms your mind into a powerful magnet which attracts the people and circumstances necessary to accomplish your desire.

Napoleon Hill writes with 100 percent confidence:

"When a man seriously decides about the Definite Chief Aim of his life,
the whole universe seems to come to his aid to see that he gets it."

There are hundreds of success stories which prove the words of Napoleon Hill.

Here we are going to read a dramatic description of how Arnold Schwarzenegger was able to visualise his definite chief aim well in advance and make it into reality later.

100 Ways to Motivate Yourself

In his amazing book ‘100 Ways to Motivate Yourself’, journalist and motivational speaker Steve Chandler narrates about his first interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger which happened several years back.

How Arnold visualised his Definite Chief Aim.

“Arnold Schwarzenegger was not famous yet in 1976 when he and I had lunch together at the Doubletree Inn in Tucson, Arizona. Not one person in the restaurant recognized him.

He was in town publicizing the movie Stay Hungry, a box-office disappointment he had just made. I was a sports columnist for the Tucson Citizen at the time.

My assignment was to write a feature story about him for our newspaper’s Sunday magazine. And although I took to it with an uninspired attitude, it was one I’d never forget.

Perhaps the most memorable part of that day with Schwarzenegger occurred when we took an hour for lunch. I had my reporter’s notebook out and was asking questions for the story while we ate.

At one point I casually asked him, “Now that you have retired from bodybuilding, what are you going to do next?”

With a voice as calm as if he were telling me about some mundane travel plans, he said, “I’m going to be the number-one box-office star in all of Hollywood.”

Mind you, this was not the slim, aerobic Arnold we know today. This man was pumped up and huge.

I tried not to show my shock and amusement at his plan. After all, his first attempt at movies didn’t promise much. And his Austrian accent and awkward, monstrous build didn’t suggest instant acceptance by movie audiences.

I finally managed to match his calm demeanor, and I asked him just how he planned to become Hollywood’s top star.

“It’s the same process I used in bodybuilding,” he explained. “What you do is create a vision of who you want to be, and then live into that picture as if it were already true.”

It sounded ridiculously simple. Too simple to mean anything. But I wrote it down. And I never forgot it.

I’ll never forget the moment when some entertainment TV show was saying that box office receipts from his second Terminator movie had made him the most popular box office draw in the world.

Over the years I’ve used Arnold’s idea of creating a vision as a motivational tool. I’ve also elaborated on it in my corporate training seminars.

He did not say that you wait until you receive a vision. You create one. In other words, you make your own definite chief aim.”

Decide upon your Definite Chief Aim

Once you’ve decided upon your Definite Chief Aim, all of your decisions and actions align with your major purpose.

The next step is to develop a white hot heat of desire for it. Become obsessive. Think about it night and day.  You will achieve it.

Abraham Lincoln's Letter to his son's Teacher

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the united states of America (1861 – 1865) is one of the world’s greatest statesmen for all time.
Here is a letter written by Abraham Lincoln to the head master of his son's school. It is a masterpiece of what a child has to be taught in the school to make him a better person. It is a lesson to be learnt by educators as well as parents.

Dear Teacher,
My son starts school today. It is all going to be strange and new to him for a while and I wish you would treat him gently.
It is an adventure that might take him across continents. To live this life will require faith, love and courage.
So dear Teacher, will you please take him by his hand and teach him gently things he will have to know.

Teach him that for every enemy, there is a friend. He will have to know that all men are not true. But teach him also that for every scoundrel there is a hero.

Teach him if you can that 10 cents earned is of far more value than a dollar found.

Teach him that it is far more honorable to fail than to cheat. Teach him to learn how to gracefully lose, and enjoy winning when he does win.

Teach him to be gentle with people, tough with tough people.

Steer him away from envy if you can and teach him the secret of quiet laughter.

Teach him if you can –how to laugh when he is sad, teach him there is no shame in tears.

Teach him there can be glory in failure and despair in success.

Teach him if you can the wonders of books, but also give time to ponder the extreme mystery of birds in the sky, bees in the sun and flowers on a green hill.
Teach him to have faith in his own ideas, even if every one tell him they are wrong.
Try to give my son the strength not to follow the crowd when everyone else is doing it.
Teach him to listen to every one, but teach him also to filter and take only the good that comes through.
Teach him to sell his talents and brains to the highest bidder but never to put a price tag on his heart and soul.
Let him have the courage to be impatient, let him have the patience to be brave.
Teach him to have sublime faith in himself, because then he will always have sublime faith in mankind, in God.
This is the order, teacher but see what best you can do. He is such a nice little boy and he is my son.

- Abraham Lincoln
